The tatu, or armadillo, is a friendly mammal with a dorsal carapace that defends it when it folds in on itself.
On a transoceanic flight, between reading about Argentina’s fauna and meditating on the light bulb in his seat, whose flow of
light did not disturb his wife’s adjoining dream, André Ricard came up with this lamp that turned out to be an icon of pop-art in
Europe. Tatu harks back to a carefree era, when the European middle classes reached the mass consumption and their children dared to
to a huge aesthetic revolution, where everything was contorted, from Andy Warhol to The Beatles or Mary Quant. Everything could

After almost 50 years, Santa & Cole reissues this classic and does so by improving its lighting possibilities. The mechanical body of
Tatu, as a compact flexo, was conceived in three sections that can be independently rotated to suit its use in a wide range of applications.
