Ingo MaurerINGO MAURER
Ingo Maurer, born in 1932, began designing exceptional lighting and lighting systems in 1966, which his company produces and distributes around the world. He develops unique and spectacular lighting concepts for public and private buildings with his team. Bulb (1966), the YaYaHo (1984) low-voltage halogen system, and Lucellino (1992) – a light bulb with wings – are among his best-known designs.
Ingo Maurer GmbH is based in Munich, Germany, with a large showroom next to the studio and offices. An older but smaller showroom, directly run by Ingo Maureris, is located in Soho, New York.
We can go on highlighting Ingo’s works of art like Porca miseria! (1994) – crockery broken into a thousand pieces and turned into a lamp. There is also Campari (2002) – assembled with a crown of bottles from the popular Italian aperitif, giving off its reddish light. Or there is Lacrime del pescatore (2009) – a fishing net beset with pearls and small lights that evoke the drops of water that emerge from it when it is extracted from the water.
Oliva Iluminación is an official distributor of Ingo Maurer.
